Meet the Staff
The Spirit always has a wonderful team of staff to make our publications as great as they are today.
2025-2026 Team
Co-Editor-in-Chief
Royce In
Royce is a senior with an avid interest in history, international relations, and journalism. When he’s not going down the rabbit hole in his latest historical or political obsession for quizbowl, you can find him babysitting his two younger brothers or unleashing his alter ego as an extremely (and concerningly) avid sports fan. This is his fourth and final year in The Spirit, and he will serve as one of the editor-in-chiefs for the 2025-2026 school year.
Co-Editor-in-Chief
Olivia Wasmund
Olivia is a senior who is excited to serve as The Spirit’s Co-Editor-in-Chief this year! She has been part of The Spirit for four years, making this new role especially exciting. Olivia has a passion for traveling, trying new foods, and watching movies. In her free time, she loves hanging out with friends and exploring the city—especially its excellent Korean restaurant scene. She looks forward to bringing diverse perspectives and the SFHS community together to create an even stronger news publication!
Community Page Editor
Sophie Ha
Sophie is a senior who’s just happy to be here – she is ready to showcase parts of the school community that would otherwise go unnoticed! She likes anything that just adds a magical touch to the world, such as jellyfish, empty boxes, and Jasmine tea. She hopes to showcase articles that make readers look forward to the next publications.
Community Page Editor
Peter Shim
Peter is now in his fourth and last year at SFS. In his free time, he reads the WSJ and watches the South Korean National Football Team, interests that shape the stories he covers for The Spirit. He has interviewed the entrepreneurial students behind the school’s Grilled Chicken Burger menu and written pieces about the varsity soccer coaches’ strategies for the season. This is his third year at The Spirit, where he will serve as a Community page editor.
World Page Editor
Jina Song
Jina is a junior in her third year with The Spirit. Having lived across three different continents, she’s always been curious about global issues—from environmental crises to trade dynamics and political stunts. In her free time, she loves going to norebang or daring her friends to try the weirdest food on the menu. As World editor, Jina aims to take current news beyond the headlines, layering perspectives that make it worth knowing.
Culture Page Editor
Chloe Jun
Chloe is a junior who constantly strives to be better than the version she was yesterday. Breaking a score on Block Blast, devising the perfect Pinterest-y outfit, resisting the temptation of yet another big cookie from Crave—you name it. She cherishes each accomplishment, however small, that brightens her day. Give her a compliment, and she’ll smile with joy in an instant! This is her second year in The Spirit, and she’s excited for what’s to come.
Culture Page Editor
Eugenie Wang
Eugenie is a junior that’s a fan of anything that’s “media,” from Brander Sanderson books to space documentaries, even mediocre-rated movies. She enjoys listening to music while reading or eye-shopping for clothes. Now, in her third year working on the Culture page in The Spirit, she aims to grow readers’ interest in various forms of media.

Photography Chief
Olivia Sung
Olivia is a senior who loves spending her time out in the streets of Seoul or watching movies at home. She has always valued finding the beauty in the little details and capturing them in her photos. Being in her fourth and final year in The Spirit, she is excited to serve as the photography chief and deliver quality photos.

Illustration Chief
Erin Lee
Erin is a junior beginning her third year as an illustrator for The Spirit. Ever since she got her first iPad for Christmas, she has developed an avid interest in illustrating. You can often find her chatting with her friends at the cafeteria and doing practically nothing next to the field. Erin never turns down an illustration request involving food, as it’s her all-time favorite thing to draw. Erin is excited to deliver the best quality illustrations!

Featuring Arts Director
Erin Kim
Erin is a rising senior who is so excited to start her fourth and final year with The Spirit. She’s someone who loves to live in the moment and make the most of her time with the people around her. She also loves to express herself through art and is looking forward to another great year with the talented illustrators of our school’s magazine!
