This is her fourth and final year of being in The Spirit, and she hopes to make the publications informative, entertaining, relatable, and memorable for readers. She looks forward to uncovering the diverse and intricate layers of SFS, spotlighting the spirit of the community!
Co-Editor-in-Chief
Joseph Song
Joseph is a senior who hopes to share his passion for writing with those around him. It is his goal to make The Spirit accessible to everyone within the SFS and local community. You’ll most likely find him in the library, which is exactly where his four year journey with The Spirit began. He cannot wait to serve by helping provide the best news magazines to the community!
World Page Editor
Olivia Wasmund
Olivia is a junior who is excited to be The Spirit’s World Editor this year! She has a passion for traveling, discovering new cuisines, and watching movies. In her free time, Olivia loves hanging out with friends and exploring the city, particularly its excellent Korean restaurant scene. She looks forward to bringing diverse perspectives and important global stories to the attention of readers, helping make The Spirit the best news publication it can be.
Community Page Editor
Royce In
Royce is a junior and in his third year in The Spirit. He is looking forward to helping shed a spotlight on SFS’s historic community and the greater Yeonhui-dong area as editor of the Community Page. When he’s not going down the rabbit hole in his latest historical or political obsession for quizbowl, you can find him babysitting his two younger brothers or unleashing his alter ego as an extremely (and concerningly) avid sports fan.
Community Page Editor
Sophie Ha
Sophie is a junior that’s happy to be here – she is ready to showcase parts of the school community that would otherwise go unnoticed! She likes anything that just adds a magical touch to the world, such as jellyfish, empty boxes, and Jasmine tea. She hopes to showcase articles that make readers look forward to the next publications.
Photography Chief
Yena Kong
Yena is a senior who loves spending time with people :) She isn’t too particular about what they do or who it is as she is often able to get along with different people. She spends most of her time going on night walks to take photos, listening to music, and discovering new restaurants around Seoul. She is beyond thrilled to contribute to The Spirit as the photography chief this year!

Royce is a current sophomore and writer for The Spirit’s World Page with academic interests in history, politics, and geography. He loves reporting about current geopolitical events and issues but has recently been exploring the complex and unconventional American political system. Alex Jung
Alex is a sophomore and writer for the World Page. He is interested in sociology and philosophy. When not studying, his passions include competitive debate, writing, learning Latin and sometimes even playing squash. On the rare occasion that Leah and her father are not fighting about cars, they’re most likely having a heated debate on recent political events. Above all, however, she loves writing prose, short stories, novellas, and poetry.
Staff Writer (Lifestyle)
Alex Yeum
Alex is a junior and has written for the Lifestyle page for two years now. His daily life consists mostly of swimming, schoolwork, and catching up on sleep. He keeps his eyes open for inspiration on new article ideas and is eager to write about student life.
Staff Writer (Lifestyle)

Staff Writer (Lifestyle)
Kaitlin Lee
Kaitlin is a current sophomore and new writer for the Lifestyle section of The Spirit. Her daily routine involves showering her cat, Haru, with one-sided affection, crying over science, and drifting off to sleep to her 20-hour playlist. During midnight, you're likely to catch her rewatching her all-time favorite films, most notably “Mamma Mia!”. She hopes her rambles about student life could be relatable and enjoyed by students.
Staff Writer (Lifestyle)
Peter Shim
Peter, a current sophomore, is a new writer for the lifestyle page. He spends most of his day either in his bed or at his desk and can occasionally (rarely) be seen going out for runs. He wishes to share new perspectives and methods in enhancing students’ day to day lives, hopefully lessening the burden of student life.
Staff Writer (Community)
Chloe Shin
Chloe is a junior and this is her first year being part of The Spirit. She is a huge fan of musicals and will probably spend her entire break watching musicals if she was given the time to do so. Other than spotting her holding a calculator and solving complex math and physics questions, you can also find her playing the violin or catching up with the most recent K-Pop songs.
Staff Writer (Community)
Minji Kim
Minji is a sophomore and a new member of The Spirit. She enjoys playing the cello, attending KPOP concerts, and sleeping through her R&B playlist. When she isn’t stressing over the consequences of procrastination, Minji can be found expressing her frenzied love for her two cats while buying her nth drink at the Crave cafe. She’s very eager to write her share of thoughts for her beloved Community page.
Staff Writer (Community)
Sophie Ha
Sophie Ha is a sophomore and a first time writer of The Spirit. She often questions her existence and the meaning of life, but otherwise she is your average student. Loving cacti, tea, fancy earrings and Siamese cats, she can be a little awkward around strangers. Her life’s goal is to be reborn as a jellyfish, if that’s possible. She’s very excited to work in the Community column - hit her with an email anytime if there’s anything interesting happening in the world around you!
