Class of 2024: Hall of Fame (Girls)
Min Wang and Irene Shin (Int. Stephanie Woo)
Min Wang and Irene Shin shine as standout varsity soccer players at SFS. As co-captains, their dedication to soccer is aligned with their commitment to sportsmanship and teamwork. Teammate Stephanie Woo (11) describes Min as “someone that doesn’t like to lose; she fights and chases after every ball no matter the circumstances.” Irene is someone who, beyond defending the goals, fosters a sense of unity among the teammates. Stephanie remembers that “the bond and support that [she] had with Min and Irene was super special and memorable.” Min and Irene’s leadership on the pitch will be missed by the soccer team.
Autumn Gilmore (Int. Emma Han)
Autumn Gilmore is an example athlete for many at SFS. With her lightning speed and precise footwork, she dominates the soccer field and basketball court. Basketball and soccer teammate Emma Han (9) describes Autumn as “a role model on every team she plays with. It goes without saying that everyone loves her.” She was an integral part of both teams, leading them to win Super APAC and KAIAC champion titles. Whether it be dribbling down the court or sprinting towards the goal, Autumn is always a leader, and we’re sure she will continue to inspire the generations to come.
Ana Hernandez (Int. Cahaya Church)
For younger students, Ana Hernandez is someone to look up to every season. As a triple varsity athlete since her freshman year, she has broken records in volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Basketball teammate Cahaya Church (11) notes that “when things get difficult, [Ana’s] approach to them really showed [Cahaya] that having a mindset of someone who never quits is important.” This year on the volleyball team, Ana had a total of 234 career kills and on the soccer team, she scored 9 career goals from since 2021. Thanks to her determination and leadership, Ana will leave an indelible mark on SFHS’ sports legacy.
Kina Lee (Int. Cara Kim)
Kina Lee epitomizes a multifaceted strategic player—on the soccer field, she always made SFS a formidable opponent; on the basketball court, her prowess shines in games. Cara Kim (10) says that “Kina is unstoppable, laying off the ball for a hail mary or acting confused after blatantly fouling a defender. I will always be her number one fan and I know next year will not be the same without her.” This year, she also contributed to the basketball team’s victory during the Super APAC tournament. Beyond her athletic abilities, her dedication inspires her teammates, driving her teams towards victory with resilience.
